Useful to know
Why convert WEBP to JPG
JPG produces small file sizes for photographs and has universal support across browsers, email, and CMSes. Note: JPG does not preserve transparency - any transparent areas in the source are filled with white.
Privacy and processing
PNG, JPG, and WEBP conversions run entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The image never uploads to a server, which keeps the operation fast and your file private.
WEBP to JPG online with ImgShifter
Most WEBP files people need to convert weren't created by them - they were saved off a website. Right-click-save on a modern site hands you a .webp, and then the trouble starts: the photo editor from 2015 won't open it, the print shop rejects it, the government portal only lists JPG and PNG. Converting to JPG ends the argument, because JPG opens on every device and program made in the last twenty-five years.
Your browser already knows how to read WEBP - every modern one decodes it natively - so ImgShifter just redirects that ability: the decoded image is drawn to a canvas and re-encoded as a high-quality JPG without ever leaving your machine. Transparent regions, which JPG can't represent, are flattened onto white; if the transparency matters, the WEBP to PNG converter preserves it instead.
Quality-wise this is a lossy-to-lossy hop, so do it once from the best copy you have rather than ping-ponging between formats. The 92% encode setting keeps photos visually identical, and the whole operation works offline after the page loads - which is also the easiest way to verify nothing is uploaded.
